New Year's Eve fireworks near me - where to watch the fireworks across the UK

NEW Year's fireworks will light up our skies on Monday, with spectacular displays taking place up and down the country.

Here is a round-up of where you can catch some of the best shows near you.

Where are displays happening throughout the UK?

London

If you've nabbed tickets, you can watch the show from Victoria Embankment, the South Bank, Westminster Bridge, Waterloo Bridge or Albert Embankment.

Organisers introduced ticketing for 100,000 people in 2014, in order to prevent overcrowding.

Unfortunately, this year's tickets are now sold out.

But that doesn't mean you have to miss out - there are plenty of other spots with great views of the display.

Edinburgh

The Scottish capital hosts one of the world's most spectacular New Year firework displays.

On Hogmanay this year, there will be plenty of activities, including the glittering show above Edinburgh Castle.

There's also an earlier fireworks display, which kicks off at the castle just before 6pm. tickets are from £8.50.

The street party, with Judge Jules and Gerry Cinnamon, starts at 7.30pm - and there's a free dram of whisky for your £31 ticket.

The Concert in the Gardens, with Franz Ferdinand, also offers a view of the spectacular at midnight. Tickets are priced at £65.

And from £60, there's Ceilidh under the Castle, which combines jigs and reels with the display.

Manchester

The city's Albert Square will host this year's event, with celebrations starting at 11pm.

It's a free event, best suited for kids as it's alcohol-free.

Cardiff

This year's Calennig celebrations are being held at the Welsh capital's Winter Wonderland.

Once again, the fireworks are free to watch and there will be live music and other attractions laid on.

There’s a big ice rink at Winter Wonderland  - and the funfair itself will be open until 1am.

Newcastle

The display will take place at midnight at the Quayside as part of the NE1 and NewcastleGateshead’s end of year party.

It's a free event, so all you need to do is arrive before the clock strikes 12.

There will also be an earlier display at Haymarket at 6pm, which is also free.

Nottingham

Usually the city holds its display at Nottingham Castle but due to redevelopment it is moving to Old Market Square.

The Midlands city also has a live DJ from Capital with the music kicking off at 10.30pm.

St Ives

After the roads close at 6pm, the street of St Ives will be packed with all manner of characters for what is known as the biggest fancy dress party in Cornwall.

There will be food, live music and, of course, pyrotechnics.

At least 30,000 people attend, and the party can continue on the beach.

The extravaganza will take place on the seafront, with fireworks launched from Pendennis Castle at midnight.

Again, it's a free event.

Stoke-on-Trent

The city known for its pottery will be celebrating it's tenth New Year's Eve fireworks display.

Tickets are not required and the festivities kick-off at 11.30pm.
