A CASE of highly-contagious disease diphtheria has been confirmed at a UK school with parents warned to take caution. Health officials confirmed one person had tested positive for the deadly bacterial infection at Wigmore Primary School in Luton. Specialists from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) East of England told The Sun they were aware of the case and have taken action. Diphtheria is a vaccine-preventable disease which is very rare in the UK, primarily because infants are routinely jabbed against it.

THIS is the shocking moment a car ploughed into a crowd of drinkers outside a leafy pub in a hit-and-run. The group were stood in the car park of the The Bear on the Barge pub in the North West London suburb of Harefield when the horror unfolded. Terrifying footage shows the car speeding as it approaches the group. It then sends drinkers flying as it slams into them - leaving some lying on the ground.
