Climber dies after horror plunge while scaling 3,000ft Scots mountain
A CLIMBER has plunged to their death while scaling a 3,000ft mountain in Skye.
Rescuers from the Skye Mountain Rescue Team were called to Coire a' Bhasteir on Wednesday afternoon.

They raced to the mountain after receiving reports of a hiker who had fallen.
The climber tragically did not survive the incident, despite the best efforts of mountain rescue and coastguard crews.
Rescue teams said he suffered fatal injuries from the fall.
Photos from the scene show air ambulance was dispatched to the area alongside around 20 rescue personnel.
Am Basteir is a mountain peak in the northern Cuillin range on the Isle of Skye.
It is 3,064 ft (934 metres) high and classed as a Munro.
A statement from the Skye Mountain Rescue Team read: "On Wednesday afternoon, the team responded to a report of a fallen climber in Coire a' Bhasteir.
"Sadly, the experienced male's injuries were fatal.

"Stornoway rescue helicopter R948, twenty mountain rescue personnel, and several passing climbers all assisted in evacuating the body from the mountain.
"Our thoughts go out to the climber's family and friends."
