I work at Aldi - these are the 'dupe' bargain booze buys to make huge savings
ALDI are known for offering a huge range of affordable products, from their essential food shop items, to their booze.
Not only were they recently crowned the UK’s cheapest supermarket, but they've really created a name for themselves with their bargain 'dupe' versions of big name brand products.

And thankfully, that expands to their alcohol offering too.
Here, Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi, shares a selection of their best bottles of bargain booze.
Julie says: "Switching from high-end, and normally expensive products to our award-winning own-brand drinks can save hundreds of pounds a year.
"At Aldi we keep our prices low every day so bagging a good value spirit is as simple as it gets.

"In store, the range is located on the back wall and they are displayed according to price.
"The higher up the bottle, the higher the price tier of the product, so the lowest priced bottles are located on the lower shelves."

Gin
Gin has always been a popular drink to enjoy with tonic, and gin-based cocktails like Martinis are classic tipples.
Julie says: "Aldi's Haysmith’s Rhubarb & Ginger Gin, £14.99, has just been named one of the best gins in the world - achieving the highest accolade, a Gold Outstanding award at the IWSC Spirits Awards.

"Shoppers can save 46 per cent - £13.01 - by switching to this from Edinburgh Gin Rhubarb & Ginger Gin, £28, which was awarded a silver in the same competition.
"Haysmith’s London Dry Gin, £14.99, is a great alternative to Sipsmith, currently £28.50 from Sainsbury's."
How to make... A rhubarb & ginger spritzer

An aperitif is especially popular as we head into warmer weather. Here's how to make a Rhubarb & Ginger Spritzer with Aldi's award-winning gin...
Ingredients:
- 50ml Haysmith’s Rhubarb & Ginger Gin
- 25ml Cranberry Juice
- 25ml Apple Juice
- 75ml Specially Selected Organic Prosecco
- Squeeze of fresh lime
- Orange peel for garnish
Method:
Vodka
Aldi have seen the popularity of vodka surge, with sales increasing a staggering 50 per cent year on year.
Julie says: "Saint Gérmont Vodka, £14.99, offers a gold standard, premium drink at nearly a fraction of the price to Grey Goose, £40 currently in Morrisons.
"A great saving to make when good quality vodka continues to be popular – especially for those that like a cocktail.
"Flavoured vodka is also pushing the spirit back into the limelight.
"Cocktails also have a big part to play in this, with vodka featuring in many of the most popular serves, such as Pornstar Martinis, Cosmopolitans, Bloody Marys – the list goes on!
"Most recently, we’ve launched flavoured variants of our popular Stefanoff vodka range, including Mango & Passionfruit, £13.49.
"Just add a dash of Prosecco and orange juice and you’ve got a Pornstar Martini at a fraction of the cost of most bars and restaurants."

Liqueurs
If you fancy something a little more adventurous, why not try a fruity, flavoured liqueur?
Julie says: "Ballycastle Raspberry Ripple Liqueur, £7.49, is the latest addition to our popular Ballycastle range.
"It's proving a real hit with shoppers, especially those looking for an indulgent moment.
"They’re also enjoying saving a whopping 56 per cent (£9.51) compared to Baileys Eton Mess Cream Liqueur, £17."

Whisky
Julie says: "Glen Marnoch Islay Single Malt, £17.49, achieved a coveted Gold medal at the International Spirits Challenge 2022.
"This award-winner offers a real bargain to most whiskies in the market."
Glenmorangie the original single malt, for example, is currently £27 at most supermarkets - a saving of £9.51 if you opt for Aldi.

Rum
If a rum and coke is your go-to, you're not the only one.
Julie says: "Rum hit the headlines last year, having overtaken the whisky category for the first time ever.
"This was reflected in our sales as our popular Cassario Black Spiced Rum, £14.99, sold three bottles every minute, and sales of our Old Hopking Spiced Rum, £10.99, also skyrocketed."
Alcohol-free
For those who want to keep a clear head but still enjoy a drink, there are of course non-alcoholic beverages available too.
Julie says: "We can’t forget the low and no category, especially when searches for non-alcoholic drinks are up 220 per cent.
"We’re adding to our Haysmith’s 0% range, which is 40 per cent (£6.01) cheaper than Gordon’s, with a Rosé flavoured Zerozecco this Summer."
Cocktails
Vintage cocktails are also having a moment.
Julie adds: "To make this easier for our shoppers, we’ve made a series of nostalgic Infusionist Ready-To-Pour Cocktails for just £6.99 a bottle.
"This links to another key trend for this summer – affordable, quality ready to-drink tipples.
